Situating at a height of more than 2500 feet above the sea level, it is famous for the unique rock formation on the top of a rocky hill. This huge spherical rock formation at the top of the hill houses the tomb of Sheikh Fariduddin, a Sufi saint from Afghanistan, which is a famous pilgrimage centre of Muslims. Kurisumala, which literally translates as ‘Cross Mountain’, is a Christian pilgrim centre that is a two-kilometer drive from Kumily . The Tourism Minister Mr P. A. Mohamed Riyas has inaugurated the first caravan park in Kerala at Vagamon. The caravan park, named Karavan Meadows, came up in Nallathanni on Vagamon-Elappara Road, and is a project by ADRAK Group. The parking lot has facilities for preparing food and conducting campfires.

From the watchtower, you can experience a panoramic view of Vagamon, Kulamavu Dam and its reservoir, Kizhakkalachi hills, and the mountain ranges surrounding the Vagavanam. After enjoying this scenic beauty, you can continue your trek towards Chillalukattu hills to reach the Vagavanam. From the hills, you can get a clear view of the reservoir and can also witness lots of elephants roaming around.
